The Nokia 8 is HMD Global's first "premium" Android phone, unveiled just last week in London. Nokiapoweruser also said that some other changes to the device would probably be included, though it didn't offer any hints as to what these might be.

Specific information regarding the US version also wasn't discussed, but it may simply follow suit with the Chinese version.

Nokiapoweruser also said that HMD could be assigning a "very high priority" to the Chinese market, but perhaps less so for the US. How this would affect the Nokia 8 — whether it would just mean it hits China first or something else — we don't know.

As to when exactly the new Nokia 8 would arrive, that also wasn't reported (yes, this is all a little hazy at the moment), but HMD Global released the Nokia 6 in China back in January and it took until July for it to land in the US. If that's any indication, we could be waiting a while.
