I love the way Android handles notifications, but that doesn't mean I like looking at them every time I pick up my phone. When notifications start piling up and I have more than a handful of icons waiting for me in the status bar, I get a little stressed out. I've even gone as far as blocking some apps from sending notifications because I just don't want to deal with them. Ever.

Plus, I find that if I let them pile up over time, I ignore things that should be dealt with sooner rather than later. This is a problem for obvious reasons.

Some other people like to live dangerously. Constantly swiping away notifications isn't their thing, and they don't get bothered by a cluttered status bar. How they live like this is beyond me.
