What left us scratching our heads were the prices. When this news broke, Android Police noted that, while the unlocked version would cost you $699.99, the Sprint edition would set you back $749.99. We're not entirely sure why the carrier-locked variant would have been more expensive than its unlocked counterpart, but it's possible that this was simply an error, as the Sprint listings no longer display any price.

Just as a reminder, the Essential will come with the latest Qualcomm chipset — the Snapdragon 835 — 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. In addition, it will feature a titanium and ceramic design, complemented by a 5.71-inch QHD display, and will ship with Android 7.1 Nougat.
