Less than a year since Meizu announced the affordable M5 Note, the Chinese company is back at it again with the M6 Note.

With the phone's unveiling set for August 23, Meizu has understandably kept most things, if not everything, under wraps until the launch event. Even so, we can gauge from the official teaser poster that the M6 Note will feature dual rear cameras, a trend that is no longer reserved for higher-tier smartphones.

Interestingly enough, Meizu head of global marketing Ard Boudeling offered Android Authority an exclusive quote, in which he promises that the processor "may surprise people":

The Meizu M6 Note will feature a processor that may surprise people, and will offer a vast improvement in performance and efficiency compared to the previous generation.

features MediaTek and Samsung Exynos SoCs, so there is a possibility that the company might turn to Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors for the first time for the M6 Note. If this turns out to be the case, it would run counter to rumors that the phone would be powered by MediaTek's Helio P25 processor. Even so, that is more of an educated guess than anything else, since Boudeling remained tight-lipped on the subject. As such, we will not know for sure until Meizu issues a comment on the matter.

Apart from the cameras and processor, we expect the M6 Note to also feature a large battery and display, along with a fingerprint sensor possibly on the front. These details, along with pricing and availability, will surely be mentioned during the phone's August 23 launch event.
