This phone is something of a successor to the older ZTE ZMAX family, according to the company. It also supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which should make charging the phone quicker than normal.

The phone comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, and has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor running at 1.4 GHz. There's a fingerprint sensor on the back as well.

Even with such a low price, the ZTE Blade Z Max includes a dual rear camera setup, with a primary 16 MP sensor and a secondary 2 MP camera. This is supposed to give owners some features normally found on more expensive smartphone cameras, including bokeh, monochrome and portrait effects. The phone also comes with a 8 MP front-facing selfie camera.

MetroPCS is currently letting people pre-register for the ZTE Blade Z Max before its official launch date.
