If you recall, Google accidentally posted an unfinished app on the Play Store, one called “Files Go”. This app would let users manage their internal storage and microSD card memory by clearing unnecessary files, wipe junk, and remind you to uninstall unused apps. Check out a quick tour of the app from that news post.

In response to the leaked app getting reposted and covered by many other outlets, Caesar Sengupta, a member of the Google Team in Singapore has tweeted a link for the same app, this time back on the Play Store, at the same web address as the broken link from the original story.

At the time of this writing, the app that you can now download from the Play Store is the same, unfinished version that we saw in the recent leak. The app isn’t finished, and may freeze when you try to refresh the app’s home screen.

Otherwise, the file sharing feature is there, which is like Android's equivalent of Apple’s Air Drop: it works with a combination of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. We haven’t tested this feature yet, so do let us know if it works.

Google thinks since folks are already talking about it, they may as well test the app and provide feedback.
