Chinese electronics company Meizu has been performing well in recent times, shipping more than 20 million smartphones last year, but it's still relatively unknown out in the West. Like Huawei and Xiaomi, the manufacturer hasn't yet taken a full leap into the US market.

Recently, an FCC listing presumed to be for the Meizu M6 Note (not the Meizu Pro 7 Plus seen above) sparked rumors that the company might soon make its debut in the region. According to Meizu Head of Global Marketing Ard Boudeling, however, that isn't the case.

Boudeling reached out to us to address the FFC certification, stating:

"Meizu is not entering the US with smartphones at this time. We're entering a number of other American markets, where FCC certification is also required."

Boudeling also said that, since the North American countries haven't been officially confirmed, the company couldn't discuss where its phones might go on sale. The devices that would be available also weren't mentioned, but you could assume it would include the Meizu M6 Note at the very least.
