- LG will unveil new versions of the K8 and K10 at MWC 2018.
- The new models will come equipped with updated cameras and slightly better specs.
- Both devices will run Android Nougat.
When the Mobile World Congress 2018 comes around on Feb. 26, much of the focus on LG will likely be on the expected announcement of the V30s, the new version of the V30. However, should it be unveiled, it won't be the only update from LG as the Korean company will also announce new versions of the K8 and K10.
The phones will be the latest addition to the budget-friendly K series. They will be available in three different colors (black, blue, and gold) and have a similar glossy design to the existing phones.
The original K8 and K10 were released last year. Neither was particularly noteworthy although they did deliver solid specs at a good price point. For the upgrades, much of the focus has gone into the cameras found on each device.
There will actually be three different versions of the K10, the K10+, K10, and K10α. The K10+ and K10 will come equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera that uses the same technology found in the LG G6, as well as an 8-megapixel front camera with "bokeh effect" (portrait mode) selfies.

The camera on the K8 has also been upgraded to produce better and clearer images in low light. It will also come with 2 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM and a 1.3 GHz Quad-core processor.
All the phones will run Android 7.1.2 Nougat, which is slightly disappointing given that Android Oreo has been available since last August.
While the phones' specs are fairly average, the aim of the K series is to provide solid features at an affordable price. To that end, these updated versions look fairly promising.
