- A collection of Samsung product codes have been unearthed, giving us some clues as to its future release plans.
- Codes for the Galaxy S9 Active, Galaxy Note 9, and Galaxy Tab S4 are all believed to have made an appearance.
- The list may have also provided us with the code name for Samsung's foldable phone: "jackpot."
A collection Samsung product code names has been uncovered, potentially confirming upcoming devices like the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 Active.
The names were acquired by the folks over at XDA from a leaked Oreo beta build for the Galaxy Note 8. Though many of the product codes relate to devices that are already available, there were references to some that aren't yet on store shelves.
XDA has produced a list of those codes, along with some guesses as to which devices they might be for. Check it out below (but note that there are still some products we don't know anything about).
- astarqlte – Samsung Galaxy S9 Active (Snapdragon)
- c10lte – Samsung Galaxy C10
- c10plte – Samsung Galaxy C10 Plus
- crown – Samsung Galaxy Note
As well as the aforementioned devices, we see the S9 and S9 Plus—which we know to be launching in a few weeks—and codes that indicate the Galaxy Tab S4, Galaxy C10 and Galaxy J8.
XDA also offers some speculation on the "jackpot" devices. The characters suggest that there are both Qualcomm and Exynos versions of this device coming, as well as regular and "Plus" models. These may represent the folding smartphone Samsung currently has in the works.
This is all conjecture for the moment but the names could be valuable in future for helping us cross-check other rumors. If you have any thoughts on the codes without product names next to them, shout them out in the comments.
