Google has launched a standalone to-do list app known as Google Tasks. The new app, spotted by 9to5Google, features Gmail and Google Calendar integration as well as cross-platform support.
Google Tasks lets users create tasks and subtasks which can be viewed, edited and managed on-the-go. These can be broken down into subtasks, given due dates with notification reminders, and created in-app or via Gmail or Calendar.
It features a light, drag-and-drop interface in keeping with what we expect from the "Material Design Refresh" and, in my brief time with it, displayed the ease-of-use Google apps are known for.
The new app is also considered a part of Google's G Suite apps — almost guaranteeing support for it in the future.
Google has had a busy week, launching a new version of Gmail, while also rolling out additional podcast functionality for Google Search and Assistant. Good thing it has a dedicated tasks app to help it stay organized…
