OnePlus is one of a few Android OEMs that allow users to try out beta updates, giving fans a taste of new features before the final software rolls out. Being beta releases, you'd expect a few major issues to pop up now and again — that seems to be the case with the latest Open Beta releases.
According to Android Police, the company has pulled the Open Beta 5 update for OnePlus 5T, Open Beta 7 for OnePlus 5, Open Beta 24 for OnePlus 3T and Open Beta 33 for the OnePlus 3. Comments from the OnePlus forums indicate that the reason may be excessive battery drain, but OnePlus hasn't officially commented.
We've contacted the company for more details and will update the article if/when we receive a response.
The news comes mere days after the company shared first details regarding the OnePlus 6. OnePlus says the new flagship will pack a flagship-level Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
The new smartphone will also include the divisive display notch, but OnePlus has confirmed that you'll be able to hide it via a software setting
