LG's upcoming smartphone, probably called the G7, will reportedly have a dedicated artificial intelligence button and a rear camera with f/1.5 aperture. This is according to ETNews, who says that the device will be unveiled in Seoul at the end of April and will be released (in Korea) in mid-May.
The AI button will reportedly be placed on the side of the device. This fits in with a rendering of the phone that Steve Hemmerstoffer revealed over the weekend on Twitter that showed an extra button underneath the volume switches.
If it turns out that this is indeed the placement of the AI switch, it would be almost the same as the Bixby button found on the Samsung Galaxy S8, S9, and Note 8. Much like the Bixby button, the G7's button will let users easily access the phone's AI capabilities including Google Assistant and LG's own Q Lens and Q Voice.
LG adding a dedicated AI button makes sense, as the company has made a lot of its AI technology recently. In fact, the build-up to the release of its latest phone, the LG V30S ThinQ, focused almost entirely on the phone's AI capabilities.

The other big reveal from the ETNews article is that the G7's rear camera is expected to have a f/1.5 aperture. This would put it in line with the Galaxy S9, the phone that has the widest aperture currently available. Having a wide aperture allows more light to enter the camera and reach the sensor. What this essentially means is that the G7 should be well equipped to take pictures in low light. However, the G7 will not feature a dual aperture, like its Samsung-made competitor.
Other details included in the ETNews article are in line with older reports. The phone will have an MLCD+ display, a type of display that should use up to 35 percent less power than regular LCD. Additionally, the article says that the phone will have 6GB RAM, a Snapdragon 845 processor, and that there will be two versions, one with 64GB of storage and one with 128GB of storage.
