Huawei expanded the Honor line into ultrabooks. The inaugural laptop – the Honor MagicBook – takes some design cues from the MacBook Air and its aluminum body measures 15.8mm thick and weighs 1.47 kg. Not too bad for an 'affordable' 14” laptop.

The screen (fitted in the body of a 13” laptop) is a matte IPS panel with 1080p resolution and 45% coverage of the NTSC color space. It promises 800:1 contrast and 250 nits of brightness.

The MagicBook comes with 8th generation Intel processors – an i5-8250u version and one with i7-8550u, both packed with 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD (SATA). Both versions are coupled with a Nvidia MX150 dedicated GPU (with 2 GB GDDR5 dedicated memory).

The CPU and GPU share a single fan via heat pipes. The fan sucks in cool air from three vents and blows out the hot air. Inside is a fairly large 57.4 Wh battery, which should be enough for 12 hours of use. It’s charged via USB-C – from 0% to 70% in an hour.

The Honor MagicBook has 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos and dual mics. There’s a fingerprint reader off to the side, which can unlock the laptop in 0.9s. Boot time is 7.6s.

The i5 model starts at CNY 5,000 ($800/€645), the i7 model is CNY 5,700 ($910/€735). It will launch in China first, it’s not clear if it will go global. Hit the source link to check out the laptop at Vmall.
