Google has slowly been expanding the reach of Google Lens since late last year. Initially, it was made available to some Google Pixel and Pixel XL owners through the Google Assistant app. It then rolled out to Android devices with Google Photos installed, before coming to certain flagship devices as part of Google Assistant. Most recently, it was made available as a standalone app.

It appears that integration in the default camera app is the next step for Google Lens and it is already available on the default camera of brands such as Sony and Lenovo.
