Luckily, smartphone CPUs seem to be improving across the board. Arm's latest, the Cortex-A76, is basically meant to be the best of both worlds. Arm says it will offer a 200-percent increase in performance compared to current Cortex-A73 products, as well as a 40-percent increase in power efficiency over Cortex-A75 products. We haven't seen these processors run in any hardware yet, but we're certainly excited to see the improvements Arm is boasting.
