Previous beta builds have introduced new features into Android, but it seems this newest build is simply an incremental update to the previous beta. According to Burke's post, this version includes "everything you need to wrap up your testing in time for the upcoming official Android P release."

With all the APIs and system behaviors solidified in Beta 4, it's unlikely that we'll see any major changes between this version and the official launch of Android P.

According to the Android P release timeline, we are right on schedule. Beta 4 (aka DP5) was slated for the end of July – and here we are. The final release of Android P could come at any point in the third quarter of the year.

Sometime between now and then, we'll learn what the official flavor of Android P is. My vote is for Android Popsicle, but I'm in the minority amongst Android Authority readers.
