HTC is going to release its upcoming blockchain-powered smartphone, the HTC Exodus, by the end of the year. The phone's developer Phil Chen revealed the news in a recent interview with The Verge. 

In the interview, Chen stated that the device will be priced similarly to the Sirin Labs Finney, another blockchain smartphone that cost $999. He also said he hopes the Exodus will get a worldwide release, although regulations in China mean it is unlikely to be available there. 

We previously heard the device will be a cold wallet for cryptocurrency, supporting decentralized applications (DApps), and that each phone will act as a node on a new blockchain network. The HTC Exodus will also run the blockchain powered game CryptoKitties, although this is something that existing HTC phones can already do.
