Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy On6 for the Indian market and, as expected, introduces Samsung's Infinity Display design to the On series for the first time. The On6, which is essentially a reskinned Galaxy J6, will retail via Samsung India's online store and Flipkart from July 5.
Aside from the 5.6-inch 1480 x 720 Super AMOLED display (18:9:5), the Galaxy On6 also features an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage (expandable), and a 3,000mAh battery. It also features a 13MP main rear camera, an 8MP selfie snapper, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a fingerprint sensor, and runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.
The On6, which comes in Blue or Black, will be initially priced at 14,490 rupees (~$211) for a launch sale but will eventually go up to 15,490 rupees (~$225).

Samsung Galaxy J6
Original story (02/07): From the Galaxy A6 and A6 Plus to the Galaxy J6 and J8, Samsung's Infinity Display slowly trickled down to the company's mid-range smartphones. It looks like the technology will also trickle down to the next Galaxy On smartphone, reported The Economic Times.
According to unnamed sources,
As for the rest of the Galaxy On smartphone, it could be a rebranded version of one of the devices Samsung announced in May.
Interestingly, the company will reportedly only sell the device online in an effort to better compete with Chinese brands that built a strong online presence. Xiaomi is one such Chinese brand and is currently the market leader with a 30.3 percent market share. Samsung currently holds 25.1 percent of the smartphone market in India, while Oppo is third with 7.4 percent market share.
Its online-only availability should help keep the Galaxy On smartphone's price down. Samsung also reportedly plans to launch a digital campaign before the device's launch to capture some mindshare.
Still, Samsung still faces an uphill battle if it hopes to square off against Xiaomi's popular Redmi series. Xiaomi recently announced the Redmi 6 Pro, which will likely sell as well as its predecessors.
