Three years ago, we saw a Samsung Galaxy View tablet at a Samsung event in London. With an 18.4-inch display and a list price of $600, the tablet was a monster with only a handful of practical uses.

Now, via an anonymous source speaking with Android Police, it looks like Samsung is following up on that beast of a device with the Samsung Galaxy View 2. AT&T will likely be one of the first to sell the giant tablet.

According to the anonymous source, the Galaxy View 2 will trim down on the size of the original View by knocking the display down to "only" 17.5 inches. It also will update some of the flaws of the original View, such as bringing in a USB Type-C port to replace the old laptop-style AC power adapter port.

However, don't start thinking about replacing your powerful drafting equipment with the Galaxy View 2. The source says that the View 2 will have an Exynos processor, a 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, no stylus, and Android Oreo. The tablet won't even support Samsung DeX mode, although it will feature a customized multi-window functionality to enhance your productivity.

With a tablet of this size, with these specs, and sold via AT&T, it points to only one thing: a media-consumption device.
