Olloclip Multi-Device Clip

  • Olloclip has announced a new accessory, the Multi-Device Clip.
  • It allows its popular camera lens add-on products to work on most smartphones.
  • Previously, Olloclip's camera lenses were mostly made for Apple's iPhones.

Fans of Apple's iPhone may be aware of Olloclip's popular camera lens add-on products. They have allowed owners of iOS phones to take better pictures with the use of extra lenses that snap onto the handsets. For the most part, Olloclip has offered lenses just for iPhone models, although the company did release add-on camera lens products for Samsung's Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5 a few years ago.

Today, as part of IFA 2018, Olloclip announced a new accessory that will expand the reach of its camera lenses to most smartphones. The Olloclip Multi-Device Clip will allow those smartphones to use all of the company's Connect X lenses that were made for the iPhone X. Olloclip says the Multi-Device Clip will work with both front and rear smartphone cameras. It includes an expanding design that should offer a flush alignment of a smartphone camera and the add-on lens. It added that the Multi-Device Clip should also work with smartphones that have screen protectors and cases that have up to 12mm in combined thickness.

As we stated, the Olloclip Multi-Device Clip will work with all of the company's Connect X add-on lenses. These include a super-wide four-element lens that covers over 120 degrees along with an ultra-wide lens that increases your smartphone camera's field of view to 155 degrees. Olloclip also sells a 2x telephoto lens, and a fisheye macro lens that creates a 180-degree spherical effect, along with high-end magnification. Finally, Olloclip also sells two more macro lenses. One can take pictures with 7x and 14x magnification, while the other goes down to 21x magnification.

The Olloclip Multi-Device Clip will go on sale sometime in mid-September with any of the Connect X lenses for the starting price of $59.99. You can still purchase more Connect X lenses separately for the starting price of $44.99. If you already own any of the Connect X lenses, the Multi-Device Clip will also be available for purchase on its own, but there's no word yet on a price tag.
