The Nvidia Shield TV is arguably the best Android TV box on the market right now, and it doesn't hurt that Nvidia has demonstrated an impressive commitment to updates. In fact, the company is now delivering its 20th update to the streaming box, and it's a pretty meaty one too.

The Shield Experience 7.1 update was previously released in early access, but it's now rolling out to all users. As previously reported, the update brings 120Hz support and resurrects the Nvidia Share suite (for capturing screenshots, recording gameplay, and live streaming).

What else to expect from the update?

Nvidia's new update also features several Geforce Now-related features. These additions include voice chat support in GeForce Now games (e.g. Fortnite) via the controller's headphone

jack, better keyboard and mouse support, and more day-and-date releases on the game streaming service (such as F1 2018, Monster Hunter World, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider).

Nvidia's update also brings keyboard shortcuts, a row for keyboard and mouse games, and a companion Android/iOS app for more intuitive form filling (e.g. user names, passwords).

The new features join a slew of Nvidia Shield TV additions over the past few years, such as the Google Assistant, GeForce Now, HDR video, a new user interface, and several operating system updates.

No matter how you look at it, you can't deny that the company has done a great job of supporting the device since its 2015 launch. Sure, Nvidia doesn't have to worry about operator testing and loads of variants (although there is a 2017 model too), but we wish Android smartphone OEMs had the same level of commitment to updates.
