- As if we hadn't seen the Pixel 3 XL in the wild enough times, someone left their pre-production device in the back of a Lyft.
- The phone was in a case in an attempt to hide its identity.
- The handset was returned to the owner but only after the driver took photos of the phone.
It seems like we get new hands-on images of Google's Pixel 3 XL every other day at this point. In addition to the handset being seen on public transportation in Canada and a Russian blog completely unboxing the phone, we now have fresh photos of the phone after it was accidentally left in the back of a Lyft.
As first reported by Android Police, a Lyft driver noticed a phone in the back of their car after dropping off several passengers and believed it to be his Pixel 2 XL. But after spotting the notched display and Google logo, he realized that he'd found someone's pre-production Pixel 3 XL.

As you can see from the above photos, there isn't anything new to learn about the handset. The device itself appears to have been kept in a case to help disguise its identity, but, clearly, that didn't work out as planned.
Shortly after taking photos of the Pixel 3 XL, the Lyft driver reportedly got ahold of the handset's owner and returned the device.
We will learn more about the Pixel 3 XL (if there is anything we don't know yet) at the company's fall hardware event. Current rumors suggest that the announcement has been pushed back to October 9 and will take place in NYC.
Honestly, at this point, it doesn't seem like Google or any of its employees are even trying to keep the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL a secret anymore. What do you think about the sheer number of leaks thus far? Let us know in the comment section below.
