After the launch of the Oppo F9 Pro last month, Oppo has now announced the launch of its mid-range smartphone – Oppo F9 – in India.
The new edition to the F series isn't quite as exciting on the specifications sheet as the F9 Pro or the Find X, but at its price, it is any way intended to be a middle of the road device.
Design
The Oppo F9 sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. The tiny notch with the 19.5:9 aspect ratio gives the phone a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio.
The Oppo F9 boasts of unique aesthetics that looks striking in the sunlight.
Mid-range specifications
The Oppo F9 offers some upper mid-range specs. That means a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset, 4GB of RAM (the 6GB variant is not coming to India), and 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB with microSD).
There's a 3,500mAh battery. It isn't spectacular for a phone with such a large screen but there's Oppo's proprietary VOOC Flash Charge technology which gives you two hours of talk-time with just a five-minute charge.
The Oppo F9 runs ColorOS 5.2, the company's customized UI layer, over Android 8.1 Oreo.
