  • Little is known about the new tablet, though it's expected to have a similarly large display.

Samsung appears to be working on a sequel to its mammoth Galaxy View tablet from 2015. The Galaxy View 2 appeared on the Bluetooth SIG yesterday with model number SM-T927A.

The listing tells us little about what the product will offer besides Bluetooth, but its appearance there does suggest it's close to release. The tablet also received Wi-Fi certification towards the end of August.

The original Galaxy View came with an 18.4-inch Full-HD display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and an integrated kickstand. At launch, it ran Android 5.0 Lollipop and cost $599.

Rumors suggest the sequel will offer a slightly smaller display at 17.5 inches, though the unit will perhaps be far more compact like recent large-screen smartphones, while maintaining the 1080p resolution. It's also tipped to include 3GB of RAM and USB Type-C rather than the laptop-style charger the original had.

Meanwhile, there's potential for Samsung to include support for recent tech like fast-charging, the Bluetooth S Pen stylus from the Galaxy Note 9, and Samsung's Bixby digital assistant.

Launching a new Galaxy View seems like an odd move from Samsung given that the original tablet wasn't exactly its most popular product, but there is nothing quite like it on the market. Look out for more on the Samsung Galaxy View 2 in the coming weeks and let me know what you think of it in the comments.
