Xiaomi founder Lei Jun has revealed the company is planning to bring the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3's camera tech to the Xiaomi Mi 8 and the Mi Mix 2S. In a post on Weibo (via GSMArena), Jun said the upgrade is possible because all three devices use the exact same rear-camera hardware.

This is pretty big news for users of the older devices as despite the identical hardware — a 12MP regular lens (Sony IMX363) and a 12MP telephoto lens (Samsung S5K3M3+) — initial signs suggest the Mi Mix 3's camera performance offers a big improvement.
