The company announced its latest activity tracker, the Fitbit Charge 3, back in August, and now we have an official launch date. Fitbit has confirmed that the Fitbit Charge 3 release date is Sunday, October 7.

You can pre-order the Charge 3 now from Fitbit.com, Amazon, Best Buy, Macy's, Verizon, Target, and Walmart. You can buy it from Kohl's too, but it's listed as "coming soon."

The standard Charge 3 starts at $149.95, while the special edition model — the one with Fitbit Pay — costs $169.95. It's worth noting that the model without Fitbit Pay will ship out in one week, while the special edition won't ship until November.

Also, at launch,

the Charge 3 won't support Quick Replies on Android — the Fitbit website says that's coming at a later date.

Fitbit has also announced that it will soon open enrollment for the Fitbit Labs Sleep Score beta program in November. Sleep Score will give users a score based on their quality of sleep and how much sleep they're getting. 

We just got the Charge 3 in for review, so be on the lookout for a full review in a week or so. For now, I can say I'm pretty excited for this device. The software and hardware seem to have been improved quite a bit compared to the Charge 2.
