- Motorola announced the Moto E5 for the U.S.
- The phone joins the Moto E5 Play and Moto E5 Plus, which are already available in the U.S.
- The Moto E5 will be available through Best Buy, Target, and Walmart for $100.
When Motorola unveiled its trio of Moto E5 smartphones, only the Moto E5 Play and Moto E5 Plus were announced for U.S. availability. That changes today as Motorola announced the regular Moto E5 for the U.S.
To refresh your memory, the Moto E5 features a 5.7-inch HD+ (1,440 x 720) IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, rear 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, and front 5MP sensor with LED flash. Under the hood are the 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable memory.
The Moto E5 notably includes a 4,000mAh battery, which should deliver great battery life when you consider the rest of the specifications. You can also spot the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Finally, the phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. As much as you may want it, an update to Android 9 Pie is very unlikely to happen.
The price should offset any disappointment with the dated software, however. The Moto E5 is now available from Best Buy for a penny shy of $100. You can also pick the phone up from Target and Walmart starting October 14 and October 15, respectively, with the same $100 price tag.
Carrier availability might differ across the retails, however. The Moto E5 sold through Best Buy is a prepaid Simple Mobile smartphone, whereas the Moto E5 that will be available through Walmart belongs to Tracfone Wireless. Regardless of where you get the Moto E5 from, you can buy the phone at the links below.
