- The LG V40 ThinQ's first update on Verizon includes new My Avatar and Augmented Selfie modes.
- The two new features focus on the selfie cameras instead of the three rear cameras.
- The update is now rolling out to V40 ThinQ owners on Verizon.
It took about a month, but Verizon has just pushed out the first update to the LG V40 ThinQ. Instead of fine-tuning the three rear cameras, however, the update focuses on the two selfie cameras.
The first new feature is My Avatar, which lets you take several selfies and automatically creates a virtual avatar based on the pictures. You can then customize your avatar with different outfits, accessories, hair styles, and even with various poses and expressions.
Augmented Selfie, meanwhile, is a new camera mode that lets you apply different backgrounds to pictures you take in Portrait mode. As the name suggests, Augmented Selfie uses
The mode lets you pick a solid background color, pick an image from Gallery, or take a picture. From there, Augmented Selfie merges the background and portrait image to make it look like you are at the beach during the cold winter months.
Elsewhere, the update includes the October 2018 security patch level. The update notes do not reveal much else, so we can assume the update also includes some optimizations and bug fixes.
LG V40 ThinQ owners on Verizon should either have received the update already or receive it in the next few days.
