Huawei has announced it will roll out EMUI version 9.0, based on Android Pie, starting this weekend. Several China-focused publications picked up the news earlier today via a reported Huawei post on Weibo.

The software will launch on nine Huawei and Honor smartphones and is said to be rolling out globally from the beginning. While this doesn't guarantee your smartphone will get the update on Saturday — these rollouts tend to be staggered and can occur over several weeks — it does mean you won't be lagging behind in the update schedule just because you don't reside in China (Huawei's home nation).
