We couldn't find any other internet posts about Mi A1 users receiving this update, nor could we find the official word from Xiaomi about it, so take this news with a grain of salt.

However, since the Mi A1 is an Android One device, it is scheduled to receive an Android 9 Pie beta at some point soon, so it's certainly realistic that this news is legit.
