Developed by Rival Games and Theory Interactive, Alien: Blackout is a survival horror game for mobile devices and a sort-of follow-up to Alien: Isolation which launched back in 2014 for consoles and PC and starred Blackout's hero, Amanda Ripley — the daughter of the Alien movie franchise's xeno-butt-kicking icon, Ellen Ripley.

According to co-publisher D3 Go's website, the game centers on Amanda Ripley, the daughter of the movie series' best known human character Ellen Ripley.

Amanda was also the central character in the critically acclaimed survival horror game Alien: Isolation, which was released in 2014 for PCs and consoles by Sega. Alien: Blackout may serve as a (sort-of) sequel to that earlier game.

According to the game's official description, Amanda Ripley finds herself in trouble again, this time on board a Weyland-Yutani space station (showing once again that the real villain of this franchise is an evil human corporation). In the game, you must control Ripley and the station's remaining crew members as they try to escape, without being killed off by the latest version of the series' titular alien.

The game will make you use the station's holographic map, along with surveillance cameras and a motion tracker, so you and the crew can navigate through the station and avoid being picked off. There will be seven levels to complete and the game is supposed to have some replayability as you try different paths and make alternate decisions.

There's no word on if this game will cost something upfront, or if it will be a free-to-play title. Hopefully, the price won't make you scream.
