The Google Assistant is capable of understanding loads of instructions, and the latest addition will help make charitable donations a less painful endeavor.
Google quietly enabled the ability to make donations via the Assistant last month, according to 9to5Google. "Hey Google, donate to charity" or "Okay Google, make a donation" will kick off the process.
From here, the Google Assistant will then ask you to name the organization, and suggests a donation of $10. The outlet notes that users can customize the amount or specify the figure at the beginning of the process.
Once you've outlined the aforementioned instructions, the Google Assistant will then allow users to say "yes" or "donate now" to confirm the donation. Do note that you need to have Google Assistant Payments enabled for this to actually work.

9to5Google adds that donations work on Android phones, smart speakers, and smart displays. However, payments via the latter two categories still require confirmation from your smartphone.
Unfortunately, the feature seems to be limited to the U.S. for now. Nevertheless, it seems like a far more seamless way of making charity payments than visiting a website and jotting down banking details. So hopefully this functionality expands in the coming weeks and months.
