Recently, we heard about Samsung Galaxy M20 mobile.In this mobile Samsung uses their own mid-range Exynos 7904 chipset. In previous year there is lot of improvements in budget and mid-range smartphones. There is lot of new chipsets available in budget segment.

Now here, we can compare between Exynos 7904, Snapdragon 636, Helio P70  chipsets and find Exynos 7904 is best or not...

We split this comparison as CPU, GPU, Power Consumption, Connectivity

Normally Qualcomm make flagship chipset such as Snapdragon 845 But they are interested also in making mid range chipsets. Now in upper midrange segment they are constructing Snapdragon 710, Snapdragon 712 chipsets..

But based on Samsung not showed interest in mid range segment in previous some years. But now they can not perform like previous years and should not be also.. because the competition is so heavy.

There are many new brands and sub brands such as Redmi, Asus, Infinix, Realme have started to occupy Samsung's market places in budget segment.

Now move on to comparison...

Based On CPU Performance :

I give 1st Rank to Helio P70 because it having 4x A73 cores at clock speed of 2.1GHZ and 4x A53 cores at the same clock speed. Here the 1st four Cortex A73 cores are very power full cores and it will run when a heavy task is being proceed by a application. The other 4x Cortex A53 are power efficient cores which will be used for normal tasks.


2nd Rank to Snapdragon 636 chipset because it also having 4x A73 and 4x A53 cores. Normally the Qualcomm is called this processor as Kryo 260. The clock speed of this 8 cores are 1.8GHZ. It is enough for normal usage and above average usage.


3rd Rank for Exynos 7904, Here Samsung provide 2x A73 cores at 1.8GHZ and 6x A53 cores at 1.6GHZ. This cores are not bad but comparing to others it is average than them.

Based On GPU Performance :

 Based on GPU,I will give 1st rank to Helio P70. This is strange one that Helio chipset get high rank than Snapdragon chipset. But here all of features DirectX, API support is same. But the speed of the GPU is little different . Mali-G72 MP3 having 3 @ 850 MHZ GPU speed. All of heavy games are playable using this GPU.

 I give 2nd Rank to Snapdragon 636 Chipset. Because a little clock speed is lower than P70 chip. all other factors are same. The clock speed is 3 @ 720 MHZ

And lastly Exynos 7904 got 3rd Rank. Because it uses old Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. This is downgrade version of Mali-G72 MP3 having 2 ARM at 770 MHZ.

Based On Power Consumption :

 Here I give 1st rank to Helio P70 because it made by 12nm process and having 4x A53 power efficient cores and It uses AI to reduce the battery usage. 

2nd Rank is goes to Exynos 7904, It having 6 power efficient cores but It built at 14nm process. This technology made it as more power inefficient than helio p70 But it near to Helio P70.

3rd Rank is goes to Snapdragon 636. It not using AI as much as Helio P70 and Exynos 7904 to reduce battery usage and it made by 14 nm technology. I know this is much power efficient chip but compared to Helio P70 and Exynos 7904. It is power inefficient.

Based on Communication: 

 Here 1st Rank goes to both Exynos 7904 and Snapdragon 636. Because both of this having same specs and technology...

And second Rank goes to Helio P60 because it using Bluetooth 4.2 but other two chips are using Bluetooth 5.0 version and it having lower upload and download speed.

Overall Performance:

 By overall, I choose Helio P70 as 1st and Snapdragon 636 as second... and lastly I choose Exynos 7904 as 3rd...

I am not saying Exynos 7904 is a bad chip.But compared with others, it is a not excellent. Because, we can buy mobiles with Helio P70 and Snapdragon 636 at low cost than Samsung M20.
