At MWC 2019 we had the opportunity to check out Lenovo's latest, which included a plethora of new laptops. And while Lenovo might not be as well known for its phones, we also had the chance to check out the Lenovo Tab V7.

As you can tell by the name, Lenovo is billing this more as a tablet "that can function as a phone"than actual smartphone. The reason for this is the large 6.95-inch full HD display. Yes, this is bigger than most phones today, but not by much. Both Lanh and I felt it seemed more like a really large phone (or phablet for those that don't despise the term).

Thanks to relatively thin bezels and an 18:9 aspect ratio it's very possible to hold in one hand, even if it's a bit clunky. It's also pretty light which helps make the handling experience less cumbersome. The plastic unibody should also make for a durable device, even if it's not the most attractive.

The Lenovo Tab V7 certainly isn't going to win any speed awards with fairly modest specs including a Snapdragon 450 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, or 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. Other specs are equally modest including a single 13MP camera and 5MP front cam. You do get a fingerprint scanner and a headphone jack as well. Everything is kept running by Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Probably one of the most stand-out features

is the massive 5,180mAh battery. Paired with these lower-end specs it should easily make it through a day or more without skipping a beat.

The Lenovo Tab V7 will go on sale for €249 (~$283). Lenovo told us the phone will mostly be aimed at emerging markets in select countries in Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
