Whats New on Netflix February 2019

March 2019 is close at hand, and that means Netflix subscribers will be able to binge watch a bunch of new and returning TV shows and movies.  So what's new on Netflix for March? Great question. Here are the highlights from Netflix for March 2019, which feature the hunt for some famous 1930s bank robbers, the second season of a strange sci-fi series and a big action film with some major star power.

The Highwaymen – March 29

You may have heard of Bonnie and Clyde, the notorious romantic couple who like to rob banks in the early 1930s'. However, you may have not heard of the two men who were asked to hunt them down and stop their reign of robbery and murder. The Highwaymen is a docudrama about two former Texas Rangers, Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner) and Maney Gault (Woody Harrelson), who get recruited to bring Bonnie and Clyde down. It sounds like these two Rangers not only have to deal with finding these dangerous fugitives, but they also have to contend with other law enforcement authorities who regard their down-and-dirty methods as "old fashioned".

Triple Frontier – March 13

If you want to check out a good old-fashioned action movie, but one with a lot of excellent actors in it as well, then the Netflix film Triple Frontier might be for you. This original film stars  Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund, and Pedro Pascal, all of whom portray former Special Forces operatives who decide to use their special skills to make them some money. Specifically, this team of highly trained soldiers heads to South America to rob a major drug lord of his tens of millions of dollars. Of course, getting to the money may be the easy part; it's getting out alive that may prove to be harder than this team though.

The Order – Season 1: March 8

You may have heard that some colleges and universities have secret societies and clubs where members get together and do some wild things. This eight-episode original series takes that concept up a notch. A student finds out about a secret society at his college called The Order, but this group actually practices dark magic and mystic arts as they try to battle a group of werewolves. It sounds a bit like The Magicians combined with Supernatural, and hopefully, that's a good thing.

The OA – Season 2: March 22

If you haven't watched the first season of The OA on Netflix, go ahead and stream it now to see if you like it. Released with almost no fanfare in late December 2016, this series is an odd, but compelling, mix of sci-fi, mystery, and thriller.  Actor Brit Marling (who also co-created the series) plays a blind woman named Prairie Johnson who goes missing for several years. She is later found and not only does she now refer to herself as "the OA" but she can now see. That's just the tip of the iceberg for this show, which gets really, really weird. It's been a long time coming, but the second season (or Part 2, as Netflix calls it) is finally debuting on March 22. You owe it to yourself to check the first season out now and, if you like it as much as we do, you will be counting the seconds until Part 2 drops.

After Life – Season 1: March 8

Ricky Gervais, the actor-comedian and co-creator of two of the greatest TV shows of all time (The Office and Extras) is back with a new show that he wrote, directed and stars as Tony. Tony has just experienced the tragic death of his loving wife. Most of us would be extremely sad if something like that happened to us, but Tony decides to deal with his grief by being rude and mean to everyone else in his life. This show is likely to be not only funny but also sad and touching as Tony's family, friends and co-workers try their best to make him smile again.
