It is no secret that the Xiaomi Redmi Note series is very popular in the Indian smartphone market. The latest phone in the line-up went on sale yesterday and the company already seems to have run out of stock.

Manu Kumar Jain, VP at Xiaomi India, took to Twitter to announce that the company had produced 200,000 units of the Redmi Note 7 and these have all sold out.

For a device that is known to be a hot selling commodity, that number definitely seems to be on the smaller side. Xiaomi has had ongoing issues with maintaining proper inventory for their most popular smartphones and the flash sale model adopted by the company is one of the top user complaints. The much more exciting Redmi Note 7 Pro will also be using the flash sale model when it goes on sale later this month.

And it's shaping up to be the most well-equipped smartphone in the sub-20,000 rupee (~$280) segment.
