For Swiss carrier Sunrise, 5G is quickly becoming a reality. On Tuesday, Sunrise announces that it will begin offering three 5G smartphones from three different Chinese phone makers starting this week. Sales of the Oppo Reno 5G will start tomorrow, May 1 while the Mate 20 X 5G and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G will both go on sale starting Thursday May 2.

Oppo recently announced the Reno 10X zoom and Reno this month in Zurich as part of the Swisscom partnership. Sunrise is the first operator to launch the 5G variant which comes with 256GB of on-board storage, the 10X zoom camera, and 8GB of RAM. There’s also a large 4,065 mAh battery powering everything. You can expect to pay 999 Swiss francs ($980) for the handset.

Next up is the Huawei Mate 20 X 5G. This is the largest (literally) of the Mate 20 series that first launched last October in London. In recent weeks, we’ve seen leaks of the 5G variant and its launching first on Sunrise. It has a smaller 4,200 mAh battery vs the standard 5,000 mAh one, but it compensates by bringing faster 40W Super Charge. You’ll pay 997 Swiss francs or $978.

Xiaomi first announced the 5G Mi Mix 3 back in February during its MWC conference in Barcelona. It’s the same slider phone that was first announced last October, but with an updated Snapdragon 855 to support the Qualcomm X50 5G modem.

It announced partnerships with various carriers around the EU including Three, Orange, Telefonica, TIM, Vodafone, and Sunrise, which is the first to get the handset. Xiaomi also announced a launch time frame in May, so we anticipate more of the aforementioned carriers getting the 5G-compatible Xiaomi device as soon as this month.

As for pricing, the Mi Mix 5G was initially promised for € 599 but you can expect to pay more than that. Despite its price of 847 Swiss francs ($381), it is the cheapest of the other 5G phones that will be available from the Swiss carrier.

Sunrise has the first 5G network in Switzerland currently covering more than 150 cities with 5G since the beginning of April. It plans to complete its nationwide 5G rollout by the end of 2019.
