The purported Redmi 8 launch day is October 9, a couple of weeks before India's Diwali celebrations commence. Obviously, there is no way to know for sure if this is Redmi 8 or not. But given the demand and the not so subtle eight in the graphic, it's a pretty safe assumption.
The only other guess we have is that this device could be the rumored Redmi 8A Pro. Historically, Xiaomi does not release Pro versions of it A series of devices, but apparently the 8A is special.

We will find out whether the teased device is the Redmi 8, 8A Pro, or both. Redmi fans should be excited for next week's launch event regardless. Xiaomi often springs surprises and launches new product streams from time to time, so who knows what else it will unveil at the event.
