But while Android phones have few real opponents on other platforms, internal competition is intense.
We hear rumors of a Lite or Mini entry in Samsung's Galaxy S series almost every year, but the Galaxy S10 Lite is actually a real thing. And how do we know this? Well, Samsung just revealed the name.
The phone passed through the FCC this week (h/t: SamMobile), complete with the model number SMG770F. This model number matches earlier Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite rumors, but the filing also includes a screenshot of the "About Phone" section, and this screen explicitly calls it a Galaxy S10 Lite. We also get the model number in question on this screen, as well as evidence of a dual-SIM option. Check it out below.
Previous leaks paint a picture of a phone that's anything but lightweight in the specs arena. The leaks point to a Snapdragon 855 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 6.7-inch FHD+ screen, and a 4,370mAh to 4,500mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S10e delivers a 5.8-inch FHD+ screen and a 3,100mAh battery.
Samsung's upcoming phone also stands out from the Galaxy S10e by apparently offering a triple rear camera setup and a 48MP primary sensor. A 12MP ultra-wide camera and 5MP depth sensor is said to round out the package.
SamMobile reports that the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite has the same specs as the Galaxy A91, suggesting that the firm might be renaming the device for different markets.
The FCC filing means that a launch date can't be far away now, so hopefully we see the device before the end of the year. How much would you be willing to pay for the Galaxy S10 Lite if it had these specs? Let us know in the comments!
