The Huawei P40 series is a few weeks away from its expected reveal date, and we've seen several leaks and heard quite a few rumors already. The latest leak points to rather interesting Wi-Fi capabilities.
Chinese outlet ITHome reports that the Huawei P40 series will offer a self-developed Wi-Fi solution dubbed Wi-Fi 6 Plus. Furthermore, the publication says Huawei will also announce Wi-Fi 6 Plus routers to go with the phones.
There's no word on how this standard will differ from current Wi-Fi 6 connectivity though, but we can likely expect speed and/or congestion improvements.
Nevertheless, a Huawei executive reportedly claimed on Weibo that Wi-Fi 6 speeds aren't as fast as the two year old Mate 20 series. The executive apparently said that the theoretical maximum speed of current Wi-Fi 6 phones is 1,200Mbps and reaches an actual top speed of 900Mbps.
