For the past six years, OnePlus' branding has remained pretty consistent: same logo, same red/white color scheme, same fonts, etc. According to Pete Lau, the company's CEO, that's all going to change this week, though.

In a post on the OnePlus community forums, Lau announced that the company will change up its brand visual identity on March 18, 2020. According to the post, the community members are learning this at the exact same time as OnePlus' employees. Lau explained that this is because the community is part of the "family" and deserves to know about this change at the same time.

Lau does not give any descriptions or examples of how OnePlus' branding will change. He does hint, though, that this branding change will be significant.

However, we've already seen an alleged leak of the company's new font and logo, and they look…well…the same? Yes, the font is definitely different and yes, the logo has some subtle tweaks, but this is hardly Federal Express becoming FedEx.

Now, to be clear, these are leaked images and very well could be wholly inaccurate. It's also unlikely OnePlus' branding would change from the red and white to a simple black and white, as that would be pretty boring.

Luckily, we won't need to wait long to find out, as March 18 is just two days away. What do you think? Are you ready for a OnePlus branding change, or is this just a weird flex? Let us know in the comments.
