The Poco M2 Pro has been in the works for a while now, with Xiaomi India accidentally disclosing the phone's existence back in May.

Now, the company is making it official and has sent out media invites for a (presumably) virtual Poco M2 Pro launch event in India on July 7. The event kicks off at noon IST (2:30AM ET).

The graphic sent in the email also gives us a look at the back of the phone, showing a quad camera housing with no visible rear

fingerprint scanner. This suggests a side-mounted or in-display fingerprint sensor. Check it out below.

Previous rumors point to the phone possibly sharing the same Snapdragon 720G chipset as the Redmi Note 9 Pro. But hopefully the Poco M2 Pro isn't just a rebranded Redmi phone like the Poco X2 and Poco F2 Pro. Then again, does it matter if the new phone has a competitive price?

This isn't the only Xiaomi phone to launch this week, as the company launched the Redmi 9A and 9C in Malaysia yesterday too. Xiaomi has confirmed that these phones will come to other markets, so here's to seeing these handsets in India too.
