UK-based Nothing today launched its first product. The ear (1) are a pair of truly wireless earbuds with features such as active noise cancelation, wireless charging, and water-resistance.

The Nothing ear (1) feature a unique transparent design, with both the charging case and earbuds being made from clear plastic. The clear plastic allows one to see through part of the case and also peek at the internals of the wireless earbuds.

The earbuds weigh just 4.7g per earbud. The 0.34cc chamber has a single 11.6mm dynamic driver. The ear (1) support Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity with SBC and AAC codecs. Each earbud also features touch gestures for controlling the playback and ANC modes.

The earbuds can be paired with iOS and Android devices and there is an app available for both to control features such as touch gestures, ANC, EQ, and to update the software.

The ANC on the ear (1) has two levels of noise cancelation. There's also a transparency mode for when you want to be able to hear your surroundings without taking the earbuds off. Alternatively, you can just turn the ANC off entirely and enjoy longer battery life.

The ear (1) have a claimed battery life of 4 hours of continuous playback with ANC enabled but can go up to 5.7 hours with ANC disabled. The charging case can provide up to 34 hours of play time in total. The case can be charged with a USB-C cable or wirelessly with a Qi-certified charger.

The Nothing ear (1) are priced at $99 / €99 / £99 / INR 5,999 and will be available in 45 countries, including the US, Europe, UK, and India. They will be available on Nothing's website in limited quantities starting July 31 with wider availability starting August 17.

Nothing was started by Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, with funding from Tony Fadell (ex-Apple, Nest), Kevin Lin (Twitch), Steve Huffman (Reddit), Casey Neistat (YouTuber), and Google Ventures, among others.
