A new firmware update is now rolling out to Apple's AirPods (2nd gen), AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and three Beats products: Solo Pro, Powerbeats 4, and Powerbeats Pro. These AirPods models are being updated to version 4A400 and will let AirPods users find either their AirPods Pro or AirPods Max devices in the event they are left behind and not connected to a host device. The AirPods will now

leverage Apple's Find My network for tracking AirTags. This means if you were to leave your AirPods at a coffee shop, you'll be able to see a map of where they were left within the Find My app.

It looks like, in the case of the AIrPods Pro, only the Pods themselves show up in the Find My app if they are not inside the charging case. AirPods owners can use the Find My app to put AirPods Pro or AirPods Max into Lost mode, and leave a message and contact phone number in the event they are found by another iPhone user.
