Realme's flagship GT2 Pro just launched on the global market and will be shipping in the UK and other European countries in March, and it's just arrived at our office!

The Realme GT2 Pro was designed in collaboration with Naoto Fukasawa. The result is Paper Tech, an innovative biopolymer that's carbon-conscious and unique to the touch.

At just under 190g for the Paper White and Paper Green models, the GT2 Pro feels light in the hand.

The display is particularly impressive. It has a just-right 6.7-inch diagonal and is the first Realme to breach the 1080p barrier. Running at 1440p, the panel is very sharp. You have three

choices of refresh rate - High, which aims to keep things at 120Hz, Auto, and 60Hz. Realme has gone with the same LTPO 2.0 tech that's in the Galaxy S22 Ultra, so the panel can technically refresh as low as 1Hz to save power.

Finally, we come to the cameras. The main 50MP Sony IMX766 camera should provide great-looking images in any light. This is the same sensor that's in the Oppo Find X5 Pro and Find N, and the same as the Realme 9 Pro+'s main camera, which we loved.

But it's the 3MP microscope camera and the 50MP 150-degree ultrawide that set the GT2 Pro apart from most of its competitors. Each camera provides a unique perspective you simply can't find on most other phones.

The macro camera allows you to get as close as a couple of centimeters from a subject. While the ultrawide is mind-shakingly wide. You can fit an entire cupboard by standing at the entrance, or a 27-inch monitor with a keyboard and mouse from 40cm away. The only issue is that, by default, when you open the ultrawide camera in the app, the Realme GT2 Pro will show a cropped-in version that's not very wide at all. You need to go find the 150° mode in the 'more modes panel'. That means that many people may not even find out they have the world's widest ultrawide at their disposal when they get the Realme GT2 Pro.
