Now, they're looking to cut more cables with the introduction of the Jaybird Run, a set of truly wireless earbuds looking to compete with the likes of Samsung and Apple.

The

Jaybird Run look strikingly similar to competing options on the market, but with a name like Jaybird behind them, we're hoping they sound just as great as the sister headphones from the comany. Each bud is said to have a battery life of four hours, but we'll have to let our friends over at Soundguys.com give them a listen before we know their true vitality. And while four hours might not seem like much, five minutes in the charging case is supposed to give you an hour of listening time.

Also announced today are the follow-ups to the popular Jaybird Freedoms, the Jaybird Freedom 2's. These headphones build on the design of the previous iteration, reworking the tips and flanges to better fit inside your ears. These should also give you about four hours our battery life, but  come with a small clip-on battery which can juice up your buds with another four hours of power.

These headphones are water resistant so you should be able to use them in the rain, and work with the company's app to customize your sound while you use them.

The new Jaybird Runs will cost $180, while the Freedom 2's will run you $150. Both will ship released October 7th.
