Although this Pocophone MIUI 10 software will bring some Pie-flavored goodness to your F1, it is still beta software. As such, it may feature some bugs or other issues. Additionally, if you are currently on the stable build of Android 8.1 Oreo on your Pocophone, you'll need to wipe your data to install this beta build.
There are two versions of the Pocophone MIUI 10 beta: a recovery ROM and a fastboot ROM. As one would expect, the recovery ROM is flashed using the MIUI system updater (or TWRP if you've flashed it) and the fastboot ROM is flashed using fastboot. You can flash the ROM using whichever process you prefer.
If this is your first time, you should go with the recovery ROM, as that flashing method is the simplest. Simply download the recovery ROM to your Pocophone and then install it through the MIUI system updater (click here to read more in-depth instructions). Remember: flashing this ROM will wipe your data. Make sure you create a backup before flashing, just in case.
As a side note, you do not need an unlocked bootloader to flash the recovery ROM.
Previously, this beta software was tested in a closed beta run, so there will be considerably fewer bugs and problems in this version. However, it's still beta software so proceed with caution.
With the launch of this Pocophone MIUI 10 open beta, it's only a matter of time before we see a stable rollout. Therefore, if wiping your data and playing with beta builds isn't your thing, you'll probably only have to wait a few more weeks before you see a stable rollout of Android 9 Pie to your Pocophone.
